Ivan Kiuranov (b.1966) resides and works in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1994 he graduated from theNational Art Academy majoring in Fine Art. He has studied modern art at the Academy for Fine Art «BRERA» in Milano, Italy in 1994. 2000 and 2004. Atpresent he teaches art at the National Art Academy in Sofia.
Ivan Kiuranov is among the founders of the art group «XXL» and the art gallery under the same name in Sofia. It was functioning between 1996 and 2003. The appearance of the group on the scene of Bulgarian contemporary art is associated with some of the most radical endeavors for revitalizing art forms during the 1990's, while the gallery has turned into a synonym of art showing there are alternatives to the traditional art forms.
Since 1995 the artist has embraced photography as a medium for the creation of contemporary art. He has exhibited his work and participated in art group appearances in Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Canada and the U.S.A. The works of Ivan Kiuranov are part of collections in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain and U.S.A.
